I wanted to share the good news with you all straight away. Instead waiting for the next newsletter, I decided to write a short post about this since due to the current situation it is sometimes difficult to find things to celebrate. It is another small step towards the right direction. I am so, so happy!!!!!
Recently we applied to the Japanese Food Supporter Store Certification Program implemented by the Japanese government via the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery.
This program was designed to certify overseas restaurants, bars and retailers which carry Japanese food and beverages as official Japanese Food Supporters in order to further promote Japanese agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products around the world.
Since this shop is fairly small and relatively new, I wasn't entirely sure we could get the approval. However, we got accepted to the program without any issues. I am delighted!
If you have ever visited the website of Taste of Japan, you surely know that they have a dedicated directory for all the businesses around the world that carry authentic Japanese food and products. When we checked there wasn't any Japanese food business listed for Sweden, in fact, the country doesn't even appear in the list. We have registered with them already, soon we should be placed in the map! Thank you very much everyone for your support, I really appreciate it. I will work even harder now to ensure that you get access to high quality specialty teas and teaware from Japan. Please take care and stay safe!
